My dear son, Mukhtaar was admitted to KKH last Monday and Alhamdulillah was discharged by the next day. He was diagnosed with Bronchitis due to the RSV virus. His temperature climbed up to 39.5degC. I managed to get two days of childcare leave and took turns with my wife to take care of him. Alhamdulillah by Tuesday evening we were back as one family unit. The night spend with Mukhtaar was simply energy-draining. He misses his mum, his home, his bed and he refuses to sleep in the given cot. Instead he prefers to sleep in the crammed pram.
Some of the things that goes through my mind:-
1. Allah swt will surely test the believers.
2. The function of the husband is more than just giving Nafkah.
3. Good Muslims must always sabar during trials and syukur when given nikmahs.
4. Rezki like all things that Allah created in this world has its purpose. It is then our challenge to use this Rezki in its proper way.
5. Our children came from Allah swt. And of course through them we are tested.
