Memoirs of Al-Abdul Razak

I love this old Masjid. Too many good memories here. I'm going to miss this old mosque dearly when it starts to have its much needed repairs and renovation. Stepping into the mosque is like being teleported into a different country. The feeling inside this mosque is very different and the calmness just simply settled into my heart. I still remembered the first encounter with the Roha. I remembered where Ust Syed Abdillah used to sit for the Roha. I remembered the first Haul Sheikh Umar Al-Khatib I attended. I remembered my first few lessons with Al-Marhum Ust Syed Ahmad Semait, using the book "Taubat dan liku2nya" followed by the nights of "Ihya". I know exactly where he used to sit and teach during his Friday and Wednesday classes and where he likes to conduct his Sunnah prayers.

I remembered my first ever Ratib sessions in Ramadhan. The wonderful spirit-uplifting Qasidahs and heart-shaking doas read by Al-marhum Syed Ahmad Semait in Ramadhan. I remembered the times me and my friends read Quran with Iman Abdullah, the Old Imam at that time. The old muezzin whose azan pierces through the thickness of my heart. I remembered the time, me and some of my friends read Kitab late into the night. After one overnight session, my good friend Khairul Amilin became the Imam for Subuh replacing the aging and ailing Haji Juma'at. I remembered the old Pakistani-Indian man that quietly arrives very late in the nigh to perform his Isya'. Not forgetting the vigourous and ever-present Tabligh brothers whom I get some pearls from... And of course last but not least, the excellent Briyani Dam served during special occasions. May Allah swt showers His Rahmah to all that has come to this mosque. Ameen.

P.S. Please donate generously for this mosque and may Allah repay your kindness.
